IELTS Speaking Part 1: Thrilling Sports

IELTS Speaking Part 1: Thrilling Sports

1. Are adventurous activities popular in your country?

Absolutely. Quite a few people are drawn to anything that gets the adrenaline pumping. Whether it's river rafting, bungee jumping, or trekking in challenging terrain, many people enjoy pushing themselves beyond their comfort zones.

---

2. Would you like to try skydiving?

Oh, definitely! It sounds both terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. I imagine I'd be a bundle of nerves before the jump, but the feeling of free-falling through the sky must be absolutely incredible.

---

3. Why do some people enjoy taking risks?

I think it's because risk often comes with excitement and a sense of achievement. For some people, ordinary experiences just don't cut it, so they look for activities that make them feel alive and fully present in the moment.

---

4. Do you prefer watching or participating in adventurous activities?

I'd rather participate if I had the chance. Watching can be entertaining, but actually being involved gives you a completely different rush. The memories tend to stick with you much longer too.

---

5. Do young people enjoy excitement more than older people?

Generally speaking, yes. Younger people often have more energy and are more willing to experiment. That said, I've met plenty of older people who are just as adventurous and refuse to slow down.

---

6. Would you encourage your friends to try adventurous activities?

For sure! Life's too short to play it safe all the time. As long as proper safety measures are in place, trying something exciting can create unforgettable memories and boost confidence.

---

7. What is the most dangerous activity you have heard of?

Probably wingsuit flying. Every time I watch videos of people gliding between mountains, my jaw drops. It looks breathtaking, but it also seems incredibly risky.

---

8. Do you think schools should organize adventure trips?

Absolutely. These experiences teach much more than textbooks ever could. Students learn teamwork, resilience, problem-solving, and how to stay calm under pressure.

---

9. Why do people watch extreme sports online?

I think many people enjoy the excitement without having to take the risk themselves. It's a safe way to experience the thrill and witness incredible achievements.

---

10. Do you think adventurous activities build character?

Without a doubt. They force people to face fears, adapt to unexpected situations, and trust their abilities. Those lessons often carry over into everyday life.
