30-Day IELTS Reading Plan

📖 30-Day IELTS Reading Plan (Daily 30–40 mins)

🔹 Week 1 – Build Speed & Basics (Day 1–7)

Goal: Skimming, scanning, and keyword spotting

Day 1: Skim 2 short news articles (BBC / The Hindu / National Geographic). Highlight keywords.

Day 2: Practice fill-in-the-blank questions (Cambridge book). Focus on synonyms.

Day 3: Skim 3 passages, write down titles in your own words.

Day 4: Practice True/False/Not Given (1 passage). Learn to locate exact lines.

Day 5: Time yourself: 10 mins → 1 passage. Aim to finish even if mistakes.

Day 6: Practice matching headings (hardest task).

Day 7: Mock mini-test (1 full passage, 13–14 Qs). Analyze mistakes.

---

🔹 Week 2 – Accuracy Training (Day 8–14)

Goal: Increase correct answers in easy types first

Day 8: Practice short answer questions.

Day 9: 1 passage of fill-in-the-blanks + TFNG.

Day 10: Practice MCQs (short).

Day 11: Do matching features (names, dates, researchers).

Day 12: Skim a long article, underline synonyms.

Day 13: Mock test: 2 passages (timed).

Day 14: Review week’s errors, note patterns.

---

🔹 Week 3 – Stamina & Strategy (Day 15–21)

Goal: Learn which questions to do first/last

Day 15: Timed drill: Do “fill-ups” first, then TFNG → check timing.

Day 16: Practice summary completion with box.

Day 17: Full 1 test under exam conditions (60 mins).

Day 18: Focus: Matching headings only.

Day 19: Focus: Diagram/Flowchart labeling.

Day 20: Read 1 academic journal article → write main idea in 3 lines.

Day 21: Mock 2 passages (timed).

---

🔹 Week 4 – Exam Simulation (Day 22–30)

Goal: Apply exam strategy + boost speed

Day 22: Practice mixed question types (passage 1).

Day 23: Mock 3 passages (full test).

Day 24: Analyze mistakes: Is it vocab, skimming, or timing?

Day 25: Practice only weakest type (eg: headings).

Day 26: Skim 2 new articles in 10 mins each, highlight keywords.

Day 27: Mock test under real exam timing (60 mins).

Day 28: Review Cambridge answer keys → see how examiners think.

Day 29: Revise all strategies (which Qs to do first vs last).

Day 30: Final mock test + relaxation technique (don’t panic in exam).

---

✅ Pro Tips:

Always underline keywords in the question before reading.

Don’t overthink → IELTS is about spotting synonyms, not deep philosophy.

Skip hard Qs, come back later (never waste more than 1.5 mins on 1 Q).

Build a “synonym notebook” while practicing.
